David Sanderson is a Financial Services Certified Professional (FSCP®), 2025 Executive Council and Million Dollar Round Table** member who has built his career around helping organizations strengthen their financial well-being from the inside out. Since entering the industry, he has earned recognition for his performance and client commitment, including being named Rookie of the Year for the Austin General Office of New York Life, while consistently achieving top-tier industry honors each year thereafter.
David specializes in working with business owners, executives, and leadership teams to design and implement employee benefit strategies that support retention, culture, and long-term organizational health. His experience includes serving private companies, non-profits, and schools ranging from small teams of two to large organizations with more than 3,000 employees. With a focus on sustainable protection-first solutions, he helps employers create meaningful benefit programs and assists key employees with personalized bonus and reward structures that align with both individual and organizational goals.
Before entering financial services, David spent 11 years teaching English as a Second Language in Taiwan—an experience that strengthened his communication skills, cultural understanding, and dedication to service. As a graduate of Michigan State University, he brings a blend of analytical thinking, real-world leadership, and genuine care to the people and organizations he serves.
David's mission is simple: equip leaders and their teams with clarity, confidence, and options as they work toward their financial futures.
(Council is an annual New York Life recognition program based on agent production from July 1- June 30.)
**The Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT), The Premier Association of Financial Professionals, is recognized globally as the standard of excellence for life insurance sales performance in the insurance and financial services industry.
David’s personal journey has always been anchored in service, leadership, and community. An Eagle Scout, he continues to stay engaged in Scouting as the Cubmaster for his son’s Cub Scout Pack, sharing lessons of character, resilience, and teamwork with the next generation. He is also an active member of his school’s PTA, working to support the families and educators who help shape his community.
His years living abroad in Taiwan—teaching English and exploring cultures very different from his own—gave him a global perspective that continues to influence how he connects with people from all backgrounds. Now based in Austin, David brings that same mindset of curiosity, empathy, and lifelong learning into both his personal and professional life.
Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with his friends and family, playing and watching sports with his son, and traveling whenever he gets the opportunity. Whether he’s coaching, exploring new places, or cheering from the sidelines, he values any moment that brings people together.
David has traveled to 14 countries, 46 U.S. states, and more than 20 National Parks. He has a long-term goal of circumnavigating the globe in one extended journey, and eventually reaching Antarctica. David believes travel is one of the most powerful ways to learn, grow, and connect with the world. Many of his most meaningful memories and life lessons have come from the places he’s explored.
